A workshop, not a warehouse
Marrowgrain Bowl Studio began at a single lathe and grew into a small team of joiners, finishers and daydreamers — all obsessed with honest timber.
Furniture that starts as rough-sawn boards
We buy certified oak, teak, ash and walnut from managed forests, then season every board in our own yard. Nothing is veneered over chipboard; nothing is glued up to look thicker than it is. What you see is the whole tree, honored.
Each design is prototyped, sat in, leaned on and argued over before it earns a place in the collection. Then it is cut, jointed and oiled by hand — signed on the underside by the maker who finished it.
Our Workshop
Three benches, one spray booth, zero shortcuts
Visit us and you will smell linseed oil before you see a thing. Offcuts heat the building, sawdust beds a neighboring farm, and every prototype that fails becomes tomorrow's chopping boards. Waste, to us, is a design flaw.
- Certified timber, seasoned on site for 18 months
- Mortise-and-tenon joinery, no flat-pack fittings
- Natural hardwax oils — safe for kids and pets

Care Guide
Wood is alive. Treat it like it.
Dust weekly with a dry cloth, keep pieces out of all-day direct sun, and wipe spills promptly. Once a year, feed the timber with a spoonful of natural wood oil rubbed along the grain. That is the entire routine — fifteen minutes, once a spring.
